When Grandpa Lorence created the Ellgen Ranch Brand - a lazy E and three bars - did he know that hidden within it is the word 'WE'?
Representing more than our ranching heritage, it can symbolize the shared roots, stories, and generations that connect us, even as life leads each of us down different paths. Like the branches of a tree, families stretch, change, and grow in many directions, yet the roots remain.
Our Family
Established 1945
On their wedding day, Grandma Raeola and Grandpa Lorence likely weren't thinking of future generations. They could not have imagined what would grow from their union.
From the life they built together has come a family shaped by hard work, resilience, love, and faith. Like any family history, ours carries both strength and complexity. They gave us a foundation of roots that hold both joy and sorrow, and in both we find our inheritance. We honor them for what they built, and their legacy continues to be shaped through us. We get to choose how we strengthen connection across generations.
Today, their posterity has grown to include 9 children, 36 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren... which reminds us that this family tree is still very much under construction.
Though no family story is without hardship, theirs has become something enduring. The roots they planted continue to bear fruit across generations, and what began with two people has become a living legacy.
